Eating Disorders Program Fact Sheet
Children's Hospital & Medical Center offers an eating disorders program for children and adolescents up to 21 years of age. Located at 90th & Western in Omaha, Nebraska, the Eating Disorders Program is the only one of its kind in the region providing this kind of specialized care.
Children's Eating Disorders Program offers individualized treatment planning that addresses psychological, medical and family problems associated with eating disorders. Each individual treatment plan is structured around individual, group and family treatment based on each patient's needs. The program provides a continuum of care, including outpatient, partial hospitalization and evening outpatient services. A multidisciplinary team of skilled professionals treats patients with care and compassion to help them achieve greater personal fulfillment and satisfaction.
The outpatient program provides outpatient consultation and treatment aimed at reducing the frequency and severity of eating disorder symptoms.
The evening outpatient program provides group therapy, support and guidance and strengthens patients' abilities to cope and eat appropriately during this crucial time of day. Groups meet three evenings per week, and involves individual and family counseling, structure programming, meal planning, coping skills and nutrition.
The partial hospital program offers an intermediate level of support and intervention to children requiring more support than outpatient services.
