General & Thoracic Surgery
Children's Hospital & Medical Center is home to Nebraska's only board-certified pediatric surgeons. Our pediatric surgeons have completed five years of training in general surgery followed by a minimum of two additional years of training in pediatric surgery. Because children are distinctively different in the way their bodies function and respond to medications and disease processes, this additional training arms them with the unique skills and training to provide the most accurate diagnosis and precise treatment of small children. Our pediatric surgeons know children. Combined, they bring approximately 50 years of experience and over 30 years of training to the operating room, providing you with confidence and assurance that your child is in skillful and competent hands.
While our pediatric surgeons are uniquely qualified to perform a wide range of surgical procedures, they have a special interest and training in treating chest wall abnormalities, minimally invasive surgery and pediatric oncology cases. Please see these individual sections to learn more about our expertise in these areas.
