The Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Children's Hospital & Medical Center is a Level IV Regional NICU, the most advanced level of neonatal care available. We are the largest and most experienced NICU in the state with 36 private rooms and 4 twin rooms. Our NICU is staffed with specially trained neonatologists who collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists from diverse areas of pediatric medicine, including neonatal and pediatric heart surgeons, to provide the most optimal outcome for these fragile lives. These specialists, combined with the most advanced neonatal technology, are greatly increasing the survival rate and improving long-term outcomes for infants, some weighing as little as 1 pound.
Our outstanding reputation attracts patients and families from more than 21 states and 415 cities to seek the expertise of our specialists and NICU services. Infants may stay with us for a few days to several weeks or months. We provide one of the most experienced newborn transport services in the region with a team of neonatal nurse practitioners and nurses specially trained in neonatal nursing and critical care.
