Braydee Carlson had already overcome many challenges related to congenital heart disease and a genetic condition diagnosed when she was younger. So when her weight became less manageable, her mother turned to Children's Hospital & Medical Center for help.

A desire to prevent lifelong complications associated with obesity, and help Joshua gain the childhood experiences his family knew he would enjoy led them to the HEROES program.
