Staying Overnight

In some cases, your child may need to spend the night in the hospital after surgery. There is a separate waiting room for parents of children who are spending the night at the hospital. After approximately 30 to 40 minutes, your CARES nurse or Recovery Room nurse will escort you and your child to your inpatient hospital room once your child has recovered.

We strongly encourage parents to spend the night with their child to comfort and console him or her. You will be provided a private room, which includes sleeping accommodations for one parent. Please remember to bring personal care items if you are staying overnight with your child. Your surgeon will inform you when your child will be able to leave the hospital the following day.

If additional accommodations are needed, please contact the Rainbow House for room reservations at 402-955-7815.
