Conditions We Treat

The Rheumatology Clinic at Children's Hospital & Medical Center provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment plans for rheumatic diseases, musculoskeletal pain syndromes, and other conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) – the most prevalent form of juvenile arthritis, may involve one or many joints and cause other symptoms such as fevers, rash and/or eye inflammation
  • Juvenile Dermatomyositis – a rare inflammatory disease of the muscle (myositis), skin and blood vessels
  • Juvenile Systemic Lupus Erythematosus - a chronic disease that causes pain and swelling and can affect the skin, joints, kidneys, lungs, nervous system and other organs 
  • Systemic Sclerosis/Scleroderma - an autoimmune rheumatic diseases that leads to a thickening and tightening of the skin
  • Vasculitis - inflammation of the blood vessels:
