Children’s Hospital & Medical Center Infectious Diseases Clinic sees patients with acute or chronic infectious diseases for diagnosis or management. Infectious disease specialist are available to confer with physicians on:

• Recurrent or unusual infections
• Management of bone/joint infections
• Fever of unknown etiology
• Antibiotic therapy consultation
• Tick borne infections
• Kawasaki disease
• Urinary tract infections
• Opportunistic infections in immune compromised patients
• Congenital infections

Specialty Care Travel Clinic

The Children’s Hospital & Medical Center Specialty Care Travel Clinic is available for children (0-21 years of age) who will be traveling internationally. The Travel Clinic is staffed by pediatric infectious disease specialists who have additional certification in Travel Medicine.  Advice is tailored to each patient based on age, location of travel, length and purpose of travel, and any other special health considerations.

Our Services
• Country-specific information about disease risk and prevention
• Vaccine administration
• Routine vaccine counseling
• Prescription of medication to prevent illness (such as Malaria, Traveler’s Diarrhea, or Altitude Sickness)
• Travel-related health advice & recommendations

Available vaccines include: Typhoid, Yellow Fever, Rabies, Japanese Encephalitis, Meningitis, Hepatitis A & B, and all routine vaccines. Please check with your insurance company for vaccine coverage information.

Making an Appointment
We recommend that the prospective traveler make an appointment 4-6 weeks in advance of the trip. Call to make an appointment as soon as you make your travel plans.

Appointments are generally 60 minutes in length
