Dr. Ferrer is senior vice president & surgeon-in-chief. In addition to general Pediatric Urology, Dr. Ferrer’s areas of clinical interest include exstrophy/episadias complex surgery, reconstructive and reoperative surgery, as well as complex hypospadias and hypospadias failure. He is a professor of Urologic Surgery at UNMC College of Medicine.

Prior to joining Children’s, Dr. Ferrer was section chief of Pediatric Urology at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, an advanced-care pediatric hospital serving New York’s Hudson Valley region and Fairfield County, Conn. Prior to that, he was chair of surgery and surgeon-in-chief at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, vice- chairman of Surgery, and professor of Surgery, Pediatrics and Cell Biology at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He also served as a diving medical officer in the U.S. Navy during Operation Desert Storm.
