Hi, my name is Dr. Hannah Donaldson and I’m a pediatrician at Children’s Physicians in Plattsmouth.

How would patients and their families describe you?

Dependable, nonjudgmental, and easy to talk to. I’m here to provide them with the scientific research information, the bullet points — what they want to know. To help them make a decision that’s best for them and their family.

Describe your typical patient?

I see kids for their healthy checkups. So throughout all ages and stages of life, we’re making sure you’re gaining weight, you’re meeting your developmental milestones, you’re doing well in school, all of those things. And then for sick patients, it can be anything from a runny nose to severe depression, ADHD, I want you to feel safe coming to me and saying, what’s the next step? Should we be worried about this? What should we be doing? As a general pediatrician, we have to know a little bit of everything. So let us be your guide, I might be able to help and take care of it. Or if I can’t, I’m going to find you the person who can help you.

In which area do you have the most experience?

Something that I do have a lot of experience with is mental health. So there’s already a huge lack of mental health resources everywhere. So I’m hoping to try to cut down on some of those wait times that people have for getting in there. I deal with depression, anxiety, ADHD, both trying to get kids into therapy, but also doing medication management for those types of things.

Why did you specifically want to work in the Plattsmouth clinic?

I am from a small town, and I love that tight knit small town community. Where I grew up, we did not have a lot of resources healthcare wise, and I want to help bring that to other small towns and communities. And I know I’m an outsider right now, but I’m gonna do what I can to help earn some trust and get involved in the community as much as possible.
