I’m doctor Dr. John Moore at Children’s Physicians, West Village Pointe. Kids are really honest, and I’ve found that I like them better than I did the adults. They have short problem lists. Adults have long problem lists. I was impressed by how they got sick quickly in the hospital particularly, but they got better quickly, too. I have visions of children with tubes coming out everywhere and sick as a dog, and then two days later, they’re running in the hall. I thought that was really neat. For most of my patients, I squeak their noses, and that’s a way they often remember me. I think we have fun when I examine them for the most part — when they don’t have to have shots. I like just general pediatrics. I see everything stem to stern from attention deficit disorder to chronic sickle cell problems and many different diseases. I see just about everything. Many of the babies that I’m getting right now are from parents — sometimes both parents — who were patients of mine. It’s a lot of fun to see them grow up and refer their children back to me. It’s quite common now, and it makes it fun.
