Dr. Koehler specializes in the treatment of all pediatric, adolescent and young adult patients with traumatic and sports-related injuries. He also sees patients with spinal deformity, scoliosis and back injuries. His surgical expertise includes minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, complex fracture care and spinal surgery. Common surgeries that he performs include: ACL reconstruction, ACL repair, including the Bridge Enhanced ACL Restoration (BEAR) implant, PCL reconstruction, knee cap stabilization, shoulder stabilization, advanced cartilage restoration procedures, elbow ligament repair, ankle ligament repair, navigated spinal surgery and scoliosis treatment, including spinal fusion. His research interests include knee injuries, pediatric orthopedic trauma care, musculoskeletal infection and surgical skills education. He is currently a member of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America (POSNA), American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), and Nebraska Orthopedic Society. He currently sees patients in both Omaha and Lincoln and offers telehealth consultations for patients from outside the metro areas.
