Dr. Scherl’s areas of focus are pediatric orthopedic trauma and fractures. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America (POSNA), and as the Chair of several POSNA committees. She is currently a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Orthopedics Executive Committee and the American Orthopedic Association Leadership Development Committee and Traveling Fellowship Task Force. She has edited two textbooks on musculoskeletal medicine and authored numerous book chapters, review articles and scientific papers. She is a professor of orthopedic surgery at UNMC College of Medicine.
