LEVEL II PEDIATRIC TRAUMA CENTER:

In 2012, Children’s Hospital and Medical Center received national verification as a level II pediatric trauma center from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and State of Nebraska designation.  We are the only hospital in the region dedicated solely to pediatric care with ACS verification.  More children die of injury than of all other causes combined.  Effective care of injured children requires a comprehensive and inclusive approach that recognizes childhood injury as a major public health problem, identifies effective strategies for prevention, improves systems of emergency medical care for children, and provides the highest quality of pediatric trauma care.  Injured children require special resources dedicated to their care.

  • We use treatment guidelines that are based on evidence-based research.
  • We serve as a regional resource for pediatric trauma care and education.
  • Treatment plans are individually based on the patient.
  • Physicians and nurses have completed advanced pediatric trauma care training.
  • Family centered care
  • Injury Prevention Programs

Trauma worker OUR TEAM:  Available night and day- 7 days a week.

Our call center is available 24-hours to pediatric specialists for physician-to-physician consults, referrals, admissions, and transport services. To contact the call center, please call 855-850-KIDS.
